Papillon Vintage Swing Band was founded in 2017 from the passion and artistic vision of six professional musicians who decided to bring to life a dynamic, ultra-retro swing ensemble based in the heart of Tuscany. United by their love for the golden age of Italian music, they set out to recreate the unmistakable charm of the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s, offering audiences an authentic yet refreshing musical experience. Their repertoire features the most iconic Italian songs of that era, completely
rearranged and reinterpreted in a lively swing style, with original arrangements that make every performance truly one of a kind.

Dal 2017 portano il loro swing in tutta Italia, esibendosi in feste popolari, matrimoni, eventi privati e aziendali, festival swing/jazz e rassegne musicali. Nel 2018 suonano a Praga per la festa annuale della Camera di Commercio Italo-Ceca davanti a oltre 2.000 persone. Sono ospiti di prestigiose cicloturistiche storiche come L’Eroica e L’Intrepida.
Nel 2019 vincono il primo premio come miglior swing band emergente al festival Swing On The Beach di Pescara. A fine 2020 pubblicano il
primo album di inediti; nel 2021 sono finalisti al Tour Music Fest e a Sanremo Rock ed emozionano il pubblico della Camera di Commercio Italiana a Madrid durante l’evento Passione Italia.
Dal 2022 sono ospiti fissi della Lugano Bike Emotion. Nel 2023 entrano nel programma ufficiale del Festival delle Nazioni con lo spettacolo-concerto “Vecchia Italia”. Nel 2024 si esibiscono al Premio Fair Play Menarini e in eventi legati alla Formula E tra Emilia-Romagna e Venezia. Nel 2026 debuttano a teatro con uno spettacolo dedicato a Fred Buscaglione.
Biographie
Since 2017, they have been bringing their swing all over Italy, performing at public festivals, weddings, private and corporate events, swing/jazz festivals, and music showcases. In 2018, they performed in Prague for the annual event of the Italo-Czech Chamber of Commerce, at a prestigious venue and in front of an audience of over 2,000 people.
They are regular guests and entertainers at some of the most renowned Italian historic cycling events, including L’Eroica and L’Intrepida. In
August 2019, they won first prize as Best Emerging Swing Band at the prestigious Swing On The Beach Festival in Pescara.
At the end of 2020, they released their first album of original songs, and in 2021 they were finalists at Tour Music Fest and Sanremo Rock. In November 2021, they performed for the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Madrid during the autumn event Passione Italia. Since 2022, they have been regular guests at Lugano Bike Emotion in Switzerland.
In 2023, they joined the official program of the Festival of Nations with the concert-show “VECCHIA ITALIA”, a musical-theatrical project combining live music, storytelling, and vintage atmospheres, which is currently on tour.
In 2024, they were selected to perform at the prestigious Fair Play Menarini Award, playing in front of leading figures from international sports. In the same year, they also performed at events connected to Formula E, both in Emilia-Romagna and in the iconic setting of Venice, confirming their presence in high-profile national and international contexts.
In May 2026, they will also make their theatre debut with a new show dedicated to Fred Buscaglione, a tribute to one of the most iconic figures in Italian music, blending swing, irony, and theatrical storytelling.
